Step into the world of The Witcher with a hands-on sword training seminar inspired by the monster hunters of the Continent.
This workshop is all about learning to move smoothly and confidently with a sword, Witcher-style. We’ll be focusing on easy-to-follow drills that build coordination, balance, and flow. No need to be super athletic or experienced; just bring a good attitude and be ready to try new things.
The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive, and fun - we’re here to learn, laugh a little, and move well.
We’ll show you how to:
Step and pivot with control
Transition between guards with swiftness
Make cuts that feel clean and effortless
Work with a partner in a safe, respectful way
Everything is taught at a pace that works for the group

Who will the workshop be led by?
Who will the workshop be led by?
The workshop will be led by Brodie Toriati who teaches Historical European Martial Arts as the founder and lead instructor of Spada HEMA.
Brodie has also worked in the Film & TV industry for the past decade, specialising in period films, using the very skills he'll be teaching from his acting and stunt performance roles on film productions such as Netflix, Disney and Universal to name a few.

The workshop is open to all over 18 years old.
No requirements needed. If you're interested, you can sign up.
The workshop can be catered to all fitness levels.
Pre-existing health and injuries must be advised prior as a disclaimer will also need to be completed.

The upcoming workshop will run on Saturday 15th August 2026 from 1 - 4pm.

The workshop will be located at Walpole Hall, 27 Chester St, Edinburgh EH3 7EN.

You can expect the seminar to run for up to 3 hours.
Seminar 1: 1-4pm. Maximum 14 participants per session.
What do I need to bring?

Although not compulsory, you are free to come dressed in character but keep in mind, if you decide to, this is a hands-on, movement-based workshop, so make sure your outfit allows you to move freely and comfortably!
Please also ensure to bring water to keep hydrated.
The workshop will already include longsword hire.

Once payment is made. You should automatically receive a invoice from our payment provider but do expect a manual confirmation email within 1-2 business days.
Please note, we have a 14 day cancellation policy. We invest significant hours into preparing materials, sourcing, and scheduling. As such, cancellations within 14 days will forfeit 100% of the booking fee.
